Flowering and Vernalization

Cold induced flowering or vernalization is the process where winter varieties of temperate cereals sense and remember cold during fall to flower only in the warmer season of spring.

Virus infection

Virus infections can be devastating to plants. We are studying the infection of Barley Yellow Dwarf Virus in Brachypodium, barley and wheat.

Seed Dormancy and Pre-harvest sprouting

Preharvest sprouting is early germination in the ear of cereals. It strongly reduces the quality of the resulting flour.
